Introduction Of Cyber Ethics Information Technology Essay The extensive availability of computers and Internet connections provides unprecedented opportunities to communicate and learn. Unfortunately the most people use the internet as a powerful and useful tool for communication and education, some individuals use the power of the internet for criminal or terrorist purposes. It is minimize the harm that such individuals do by learning ourselves, and training young people, how to use the Internet safely and responsibly. The word cyber ethics refers to a code of safe and responsible behavior for the Internet community. Practicing good cyber ethics involves understanding the risks of harmful and illegal behavior online and learn how to protect ourselves, and other Internet users, from such behavior. It also involves teaching young people that may not realize the possible for harm to themselves and others, that use the Internet safely and responsibly. For example at an near the beginning age, children learn what it means to be honest, and to r espect the rights and property of others. They are trained to not take what does not belong to them, and to be understanding of others. On the internet that is same basic rules apply to person. The information and relations below offer guidance and property for parents and educators and for young people so that they can develop good cyber ethics, and to get the most out of the exciting new world of the internet. à ¿Ã ½ School work use the internet to help you do your school work. The internet is the worlds biggest library. User can find information on about any subject from science, math and technology to language, art, history and more. When use information photos and other materials that you find on the internet in homework or research projects, make sure that user identify the sources of the information in foot notes, just as user would if used books in school library to get the information. Dont copy information from the internet and call it your own. It is sometimes tempting to copy information from the internet into your schoolwork, and toward present it as your own work. That is dishonest, just like taking somebody elses jacket and calling it your own and it might be illegal too. Much of the information like pictures and other materials on the internet are copy righted which means that is belongs to someone else. If users take it without permission, or without identifying the source in a foot note that user are breaking the law. à ¿Ã ½ Music, video, games and copyrights use the internet to study about music, video and games. There are many websites that user can find out about music by listening to sample tracks, sample movie videos, and be trained about new computer games. Dont use the internet to download or share copyrighted material. When something is copyrighted, it means that someone else owns it, and user cannot copy or share out it without their permission. It is dishonest and illegal to download copyright music, video, games or other materials. It is also dishonest and illegal to share copyrighted music, video, games or other materials over the internet. à ¿Ã ½ Email and instant messaging use the internet to communicate with friends and family. Email and instant messaging (IM) are good, enjoyable ways to communicate with your friends and your family. For all time make sure that recognize the people with whom exchange email and IM. Dont use the internet to communicate with the strangers. Do not use email or IM to talk to strangers. They might not be who they say they are, and if they are not, they are not nice people. Dont present out your email or IM address to people you dont know either online or in person. Dont open email or email attachments from people dont know. unwanted email may contain viruses that will damage your computer and the information on it. Dont make up to be someone else. Just as you dont want others to cover their true identity with they email or IM dont imagine to be someone else when user online. Dont be rude or use bad language when use email or IM, be thoughtful of others. Dont be rude, mean or use bad language wouldnt do that in real life, and you shouldnt do it on the internet also. Dont give anybody personal information or passwords. Dont tell people, especially strangers, more about them self than user would if met them in person. Dont tell them that seem like, user age, where user live, user phone number, the school of user goes to, or any passwords that protect user computer or user private information. à ¿Ã ½ For Parents Dont leave children to unverified people. Make confident that user know what sites children visit when theyre on the internet, and with whom theyre communicating on the internet. Look over their shoulder. Stay track of the websites they visit. There are websites and programs available that direct children to sites that are fun, interesting and appropriate and there are others that limit their browsing to suitable websites. The best control though is parental involvement. Make confident they understand acceptable behavior on the internet and make confident that they follow the rules. Do encourage the children to use the internet. The internet has lots good things to offer children. When used cleverly it is a great tool for information assembly and education and, via email and instant messaging, for practicing written communication. BACKGROUND RESEARCH WHAT IS CYBER ETHICS Cyber ethics is different from cyber law. Laws are formal written information that applies to every person, interpreted by judicial system, and forced by the police. Ethics is an open rational concept that goes away from simple right and wrong, and look toward the good life. Cyber ethics refers to the rules of responsible behavior on the internet. Responsibly in everyday life, with lessons for example donà ¿Ã ½t take what doesnà ¿Ã ½t belong to you and do not hurt others. The responsible of user is: 1. Donà ¿Ã ½t use rude or hateful language. 2. Donà ¿Ã ½t be a bully on the Internet. Do not call people names, lie about them, send uncomfortable pictures of them, or do anything else to try to hurt them. 3. Do not copy information from the Internet and maintain it as yours. That is called plagiarism. 4. Stay to copyright limits when downloading material including software, games, movies, or music from the Internet 5. Donà ¿Ã ½t break into someone elseà ¿Ã ½s computer 6. Donà ¿Ã ½t use someone elseà ¿Ã ½s password. 7. Donà ¿Ã ½t challenge to infect or in any way try to make someone elseà ¿Ã ½s computer unusable. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF CYBER ETHICS 1. Thou shall not use a computer to hurt other people. 2. Thou shall not interfere with other peoples computer work. 3. Thou shall not spy around in other peoples computer files. 4. Thou shall not use a computer to steal. 5. Thou shall not use a computer to allow false witness. 6. Thou shall not copy or use proprietary software for which you have not paid. 7. Thou shall not use other peoples computer resources without authorization or proper compensation. 8. Thou shall not appropriate other peoples intellectual production. 9. Thou shall think about the social consequences of the program you are writing or the system you are designing. 10) Thou shall always use a computer in ways that make sure kindness and respect for fellow humans. THE TERM OF CYBER ETHICS Cyber ethics is the moral, legal, and social issues relating to cyber technology. It examines the impact that cyber technology has for social, legal, and moral systems. It also evaluates the social policies and laws that have been framed in reply to issues generated by the development and use of cyber technology. There is a joint relationship here. Cyber ethics is a more perfect label than computer ethics, which may suggest the study of ethical issues incomplete to computing machines, or to computing professionals. Mermaid Swims In Essays -- Personal Narrative Aquariums Papers
Mermaid Swims In I am new to the hobby of keeping and maintaining an aquarium. My boyfriend, Andrew, gave me an aquarium for my birthday two months ago. I was very excited. When I was little, my family had two goldfish in a small, round bowl. Watching my mother clean out the tank was the extent to which I knew how to care for fish. The aquarium that Andrew gave me is an Eclipse 6; a six-gallon aquarium equipped with a bio-wheel filtration system. The bio-wheel system is a three-step filtration system: the water is sucked out of the aquarium into a tube, passed along a carbon filter, and then into a chamber that houses a bio-wheel-a small rotating filter that absorbs impurities from the water. Finally, the water is dropped back into the aquarium via waterfall. Eclipse aquariums have wonderful reputations; I am confident in saying that it is one of the best if not the best aquarium on the market. As you can imagine, maintaining this aquarium is a lot different from caring for the small fishbowl that I grew up with. At first, I knew not how involved the process was and decided to start stocking my aquarium. I purchased four plants (all plastic) because I was told that beginners should not start with live plants, which can alter the chemical levels in the water. My final purchase was the gravel and I quickly assumed I was ready to get started. Was I ever wrong. Keeping a healthy aquarium turned out to be much more work than I had ever imagined. However, I did not find this out until I failed several times. After killing five fish I was afraid to try again. I was overwhelmed with how much there was to learn. I wondered if I would ever be able to learn all I needed to be able to keep a healthy aquarium. Thus... ... is that they seem to "suck you in". I found myself happily chatting to people for what seemed like minutes and later realize I had been sitting in front of the computer for countless hours. It is somewhat worse than watching television because it completely draws you in. There are no commercial breaks where you can dart to the bathroom before the show starts. This is the downside of the Internet for me. I feel guilty when I am stuck in my house on the computer and it is a beautiful day outside. The time I spend on the Internet also seems to cut into the time I am supposed to be doing schoolwork or cleaning my house. Oh well! It is fun! Flashbulb Memory
Flashbulb memory is a distinctive and vivid memory. They are also long lasting, accurate and detailed. These memories are from personal circumstances surrounding a personââ¬â¢s discovery of shocking events. People remember these memories with clear details of the emotions they were feeling, the place where they were, and what they were doing when they first heard the news. These memories are so vivid that people can even remember irrelevant details, such as, weather or what they were wearing. Even though a flashbulb memory could be from previous years early, people can remember these memories like they just happened yesterday.Although, people remember what events happened on these certain days they canââ¬â¢t remember what they did the day before or possibly the day after. The aspect that makes these memories a lifelong memory is the emotion behind the memory. The emotion felt at the time of the event is what turns the memory from a regular memory in to a flashbulb memory. Emoti onal reactions stimulate the release of hormones that have been shown to enhance the formation of long term memories (Saundra K. Ciccarelli, 2009) In addition, people remember emotional trauma better than they remember every day events.The initial shock or stress caused by these extreme events can cause peopleââ¬â¢s memory to be misread. It has been suggested by a newsletter titled, Memory Disorder Project (2006), that a person has to require participation of the amygdala to actually have had a flashbulb memory. Amygdala is a brain structure involved in emotional memory, and possibly other brain systems which regulates mood and alertness. Amygdala also can regulate the encoding, storage and retrieval of episodic memory. The amygdala may be vital to the retrieval of memories from emotional public events.There have been horrible events that have been perfect examples to research peopleââ¬â¢s flashbulb memories. In past decades, events such as assignations of John F. Kennedy, Mar tin Luther King Jr. , and the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger have been used to research flashbulb memories. In more current events, peopleââ¬â¢s memories of the 9/11 attacks have been studied to find out more information about flashbulb memories. An individual can have flashbulb memories of their personal life experiences too. Examples of these would possibly be the death of a family member, or just the opposite, the birth of a family member.A couple personal flashbulb memories I have are the memories of my son being born, and the moment my sister was diagnosed with a life changing brain malformation. I remember exactly what I was feeling, and even what I was wearing during the instant these events occurred. The psychologist, Colegrove started writing in 1899 described how middle-aged people remembered exactly what they were doing thirty-five years ago, when Abraham Lincoln was shot. In the late 1970ââ¬â¢s two people Brown and Kulik, started doing research on flashb ulb memories.Their theories seemed to support the idea of adrenaline effects on memory. In the 1970ââ¬â¢s the classic example of ââ¬Å"Where were you when you heard about Kennedy being shot. â⬠. Brown and Kulik introduced the term flashbulb memory, along with the first model of the process in developing flashbulb accounts. They suggested a flashbulb memory cannot occur without a high level of surprise or emotional arousal. The four models they proposed was the photographic model, comprehensive model, emotional-integrative model, and the importance driven emotional reactions model.Even further studies of flashbulb memories led people to look in to their accuracy of the actual events. A psychologist named Neisser argued that flashbulb memories are not as accurate as people think they are. He suggested that flashbulb memories are really like ââ¬Å"life markersâ⬠. When a significant event occurs, it becomes part of your life history. ââ¬Å"We know our world is changed fr om that moment on, but that doesnââ¬â¢t mean they are accurate. â⬠(Flashbulb Memory). There have been disagreements debating whether flashbulb memories are accurate enough to be categorized in their own group.One reason over this disagreement is because flashbulb memories fade away over time, which is also how regular memories work. Another reason, flashbulb memories are doubted is that they can be very unstable. Flashbulbs can seem extremely vivid because the memories are often retold over and over again. They are not remembered as vividly without constantly thinking about it. ââ¬Å"Accuracy reduces during the first three months and levels at about twelve months. â⬠(Wikipedia, 2010). Flashbulb memories are sometimes classified as a type of autobiography memory.Autobiography memory is memory used in our everyday life. A memory goes through the first stage, encoding. At this stage, a set of mental operations that people perform on sensory information to convert that in formation into a form that is usable in the brainââ¬â¢s storage systems. The next step is storage, where a personââ¬â¢s brain holds on to information for an amount of time. Finally, the last memory process is retrieving. This step can be difficult, as well as impossible. During retrieval, memories can be distorted.Flashbulb memories can still be distorted like all other memories, but they seem to be more vivid in our minds. Normal everyday memories are entered in to our sensory memory. We perceive information with our senses. Then, information goes from sensory memory to short term memory. This transfer occurs because of selective attention, which is the ability to focus on only one stimulus from among all sensory input. Information then is processed in to long term memory. These are long lasting memories that can be stored for a long period of time until memory is retrieved.This transfer can only occur through elaborative rehearsal (Saundra K. Ciccarelli, 2009). Three items t hat are thought to have significant affects on flashbulb memories are consequentiality, distinctiveness of an event, and personal involvement and proximity. Consequentiality is the main characteristic for determining flashbulb memories. The consequence of an event is a particular variable in the making and keeping of flashbulb memory. Two models of flashbulb memories state that the consequence of an event determines the intensity of emotional reactions.Distinctiveness of an event has been considered to be a large contribution to the efficiency of flashbulb memories. Flashbulbs memories have been identified as unique and distinctive from everyday memories. It has been documented that people actually involved in the event are going to remember the event better over time. People who had no direct experience will not have a precise flashbulb memory of the event the way people who were involved or in close proximity (Wikipedia, 2010) Even through the controversy of how accurate flashbulb memories are, or how they work, no one can deny the mystery of them.A person in their own curiosity has to wonder how they remember so many details of the day of a impacting event on their life ten years ago, but they canââ¬â¢t remember what they ate the for breakfast yesterday morning. Flashbulb memory is an appropriate name for the phenomena because these memories can be like clear flashes of what really happened during the time when a person heard this information and felt the emotions at that time. Those emotions stimulating the amygdala makes the memory last longer.Through research of peopleââ¬â¢s reactions and memories of catastrophic public events, we as a society have learned more details about flashbulb memories. Even though, the research started over a century ago, there are many other unclear topics of flashbulb memories. Such as, exactly what types of memory a flashbulb memory is, how it is retrieved, and how is it different from regular everyday memories. As long as memories have consequentiality, distinctiveness, proximity, or involvement, it will be a long lasting memory. Until proved otherwise these memories will be known as flashbulb memories.

For example, one can suddenly get fired from their job but that does not stop the bills from rolling in especially when there is a family to take care of, in situations like this financial help can really be useful.
